Christchurch Cathedral Earthquake Charm and Pendant
On 22nd February 2011 Christchurch was rocked by a catastrophic earthquake which destroyed whole sections of the suburbs and central city. Christchurch as we knew it was lost forever, some of the most heartbreaking damage was to the Cathedral, Christchurch’s symbolic heart.
To mark this day which effected the country so deeply and in order to raise funds for The Cathedral’s rebuilding Juniper (who themselves lost their shop that day) were asked to produce this highly detailed solid sterling silver charm, which can also be sold and worn as a pendant. When shown the prototype The Dean, Peter Beck, was delighted to give The Cathedral‘s seal of approval.
A proportion of the total profits from all sales will go directly to the rebuilding of the cathedral. A donation of $10 per piece from the wholesale price is guaranteed to go directly to the fund, this is being independently audited. All production and design has been done in New Zealand, and where possible from within Christchurch’s own businesses who are all currently struggling through this very difficult period
Each piece comes with it’s own personalised pouch, with The Cathedral’s logo on it along with a sequentially numbered and signed card giving an explanation and thanking the purchaser for their donation. These details will make this a highly desireable collectors piece.
