At 3755 meters Mt Cook is the highest peak in both New Zealand and Austrailia. Known to the Maori as "Aoraki" after a deity from Maori mythology. The tent- shaped Mt Cook was named after Catain James Cook. The blue base represents the cool climate and the grey depicts the Mountain peaks.
