Casio have announced the G-Shock Rangeman GW9400-1B “Blackout” Editions for a February 2020 release.
These basic black models feature a mostly black colorway with silver buttons, gray lettering, beige accents, and reverse LCD displays. These watches continue the style that was originally seen with the Mudmaster GWG-1000-1A1 in 2018.
Major features of the Rangeman GW9400-1B include mud resistance, low temperature resistance (-10C/14F), Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto radio timekeeping, Triple Sensor, sunrise/sunset data, one-press stopwatch start button, and 40-set sensor record memory. Of course, both models are also shock-resistant and water-resistant to 200 metres.
Swapping out the regular coloured components with a tonal black, the watches are paired with metallic silver pushers and detailing, providing a rugged yet stealthy aesthetic for the two models. The Mudmaster comes with an upgraded carbon case which houses four sensors — an accelerometer, a compass, a thermometer, and an altimeter — as well as analog watch hands atop a negative digital display. The Rangeman offers a more casual option, utilizing three sensors instead and a full negative digital display. Both are water resistant to 200 metres and feature LED backlighting, as well as the brand’s signature shock and mud resistance.
