G-Shock have released an updated version of the gravitymaster. The lastest version comes with a quad sensor and continues with G-Shocks trend to have a  carbon core guard.

The design has been inspired by a helicoptors control stick. The quad sensor means that the watch comes with an altimeter/barometer, compass, thermometer and an accelerometer for step counting.

The GR-B200 has a Bluetooth connection to its smartphone app for a mission log that records altitude points and GPS points. The watch has the usual functions that we have come to expect from a G-Shock.

It is interesting that G-Shock have forgone with the previous models tough solar function. Maybe this is a tradeoff with the carbon fibre bezel. It will be interesting to see what consumers think is more important. Replacing a battery along with a pressure test for water resistance every two years may be a barrier for some on such as expensive model.

Due for release in New Zealand in October. Price to be confirmed
